The latest issue of the BEAMS is in the mail. The following is an excerpt from the Executive Thoughts section.
" ... One of the most meaningful ceremonies at the [National Girl Scout Convention] is the opening parade of flags of all of the WAGGGS countries. In celebration of who we are there will be a parade of flags at our annual meeting.
We are asking each town or service unit to create a fabric flag measuring 12" high by 18" wide that depicts Girl Scouts in your community. It can be as simple as 'My town Service Unit' on a piece of white fabric; to an elaborate design of your choice. Just remember not to make it so busy that it can't be viewed in a parade.
Please mail the flags to the service center by March 10. We will mount them on dowels for you. If you have someone from your service unit - girl or adult - who will carry the flag into the meeting, please give us that person's name also..."
Annual Meeting is on Saturday, March 18th.
