Certification of Instructor-of-Trainers
Girl Scouts of the USA has awarded the Certification of Instructor-of-Trainers to LaRae Attebery from North Platte. Girl Scout instructor-of-trainers complete a three-stage certification process designed to ensure high-quality training for Girl Scout volunteers nationwide. Consistency and professionalism are the keys to the process. LaRae, a Certified Instructor-of-Trainer with the Guiding Star Girl Scout Council for seventeen years, will train select volunteers, who will in turn train Girl Scout leaders throughout the area. “LaRae’s innovative techniques and dynamic style will inspire our trainers as they prepare Girl Scout leaders to effectively meet the challenges of leading young women into the next century,” said Lori Zeilinger, president of Guiding Star Girl Scout Council. “Leaders are the backbone of Girl Scouting, the direct link to the girls”. Girl Scouts of the USA requires that each instructor be certified before training volunteers to be trainers, thereby establishing a consistent nationwide standard of competency. Only candidates with demonstrated abilities in planning, designing, delivery, and evaluating a Train the Trainers course are awarded the certification. There are more than 280 Girl Scout leaders in Guiding Star serving more than 1,285 girls.
